1. what kind of
information should I have on my website?
Below are some examples of the types of information
to include on your web site. out your website.
Solution Design has a variety of templates and
styles that may be useful in the development of your
website
1.Company Logo or Letterhead.
2.Company Information - information about your
company, how long you have been in business,
products and services you offer, hours of
operations, etc. Think about the types of questions
people ask when they phone your offices. Try and
answer as many of those questions as possible
through your web site.
3.Contact Information (address, phone number, fax
number, e-mail addresses, title, etc.)
4.Customer feedback form or survey
5.Product Information, specification, or drawings
6.Photos of your company, employees, products,
facilities, etc.
7.Newsletter or any type of regular correspondence
you have with your customers.
8.Monthly specials or promotions that you may be
offering.
9.Letter from the President of the company welcoming
potential customers to the web site.
10.Please Do Not Send in Macintosh Formatted Disks.
We are a PC shop and accept only PC formatted disks
11.Do not send in copies or cutouts of magazines or
brochures. That is very difficult to scan and will
not be included in the site. Please send high
quality prints and slicks for web site production.
12.The web site can only be as good as the material
that is used to create the web site.
13.If you have a six page website then please gather
material together for six 8 1/2 by 11 pages. That is
how you determine how long a web page can be. If you
would like to upgrade your site with additional
pages a production manager would be happy to discuss
that with you when your material is received in our
facilities.
14.The production cycle is generally 2-3 weeks after
receipt of material. In about 4 weeks, you should
have a fully functioning web site to begin
conducting business on the Internet.
15.If you don't have enough material together for a
4 or 6 page web site then we will create the site
with the material that is available. The additional
pages can be added at a later time.

2. Website
Revision Policy while website is in production
1.Once the draft is given to the
client we expect that the client will go through the
material thoroughly. It is preferable to print out
the site in its entirety and make changes and
corrections on the copy and then fax the changes to
us at 561-6200612 or
support@solutionsdesign.com
The
client has the opportunity to make two sets of
changes on their web site. Because layout and design
selections have been made prior to development,
clients are prohibited from changing the actual
structure and layout of the site. The accepted
changes will be textual in nature and not a complete
redo of the design, layout, or graphics.
Old and outdated material that needs to be replaced
on a site after development begins will incur
additional charges. After those two sets of changes
have been made then the client is notified.
2.The revisions usually can be made within 5-7
working days depending on the extent of the
revisions. If the revisions are minor they can be
made within 72 hours. If they are extensive then it
may take a little bit longer and an extension may be
necessary. Solutions design makes a great effort to
get the changes made in a timely manner.
3.Once the site is in for its first set of revisions
and those changes are made the client is contacted
again to review those changes. Note: Please YOU MUST
CLEAR YOUR CACHE ON YOUR COMPUTER.
Press the reload or refresh button on your browser
so that the changes can be pulled from the server.
Otherwise, you may go to view your site and you will
see the same version because you are looking at it
from the memory of your computer and not pulling the
actual changes from the server.
IF THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT CLEAR PLEASE CONTACT A
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TO EXPLAIN CACHE
MEMORY AND HOW TO CLEAR IT.
4.Upon completing the review process an
authorization form approving the site must be faxed
to our office at 561-6200612.
5.Revisions cannot come in sporadically. All
material will have to be in-house for us to begin
production on any revisions. This will obviously
cause a delay, however, it is very important that we
have all material before revisions can be started.
Website Maintenance
Web Site maintenance is crucial
to the existence of your web site. A static,
non-changing web site is boring. A potential
customer will continue to come back to your site if
they know it is constantly changing and offering new
and vital information about your company and
products. Offer internet specials, monthly specials
and promotions, new hire information, new products
or services that will be offered, etc.
Solutions Design will maintain your site for you if
you don't have time to keep it dynamic. Elements can
be added on a regular basis that can keep the site
changing. Different animations, text, active
elements can be added to your site to keep it
vibrant
